How to Train Your Dragon game is the name of a video game based on the popular movie of the same name. This one was published by Activision for the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation 3. The game was released on March 23, 2010 to mediocre reviews.
How to Train Your Dragon game follows either Hiccup or Astrid and their choice of dragon. This game is mainly a fighting game, similar to Street Fighter but also diverts into mini games on the side and offers the player the option to customize and build their dragons to whatever they want. The player has to compete in several tournaments of increasing difficulty, making the training aspects of the game vital to the player’s progression. When not fighting in tournaments, they will find themselves in a more adventure style game, completing quests in order to get items to feed to their dragons. This one also offers a split screen multiplayer mode, unrelated to the single player campaign, even though the players are able to use the custom dragons created in the story mode.
During the game and after beating the first tournament, Snotlout will try to ruin your chances of winning the other tournaments, so before you complete in the next one you have to find the things Snotlout sabotaged. For instance, stealing the food of the dragons, letting your dragons escape, and stealing the tournament horn.
Each time you beat a tournament you are allowed to level up your dragon, unlock designs for your dragons, and even get the other dragons. There are 4 tournaments in all: Snotlout’s tournament, Ruffnut and Tuffnut’s tournament, Fishlegs’ tournament, and Hiccup or Astrid’s tournament. Everything depends on who you pick as the main character. When you finish them all you are able to compete in the grand championship tournament and finish the game.

Despite taking place after How to Train Your Dragon the movie, there are a lot of continuity errors that would be fixed by watching the whole movie. Some examples are how Hiccup has both feet intact, there are a lot of Night Furies, and Toothless has both tail fins. One of the foods that are available for your dragon in Fish. However, it is weird that Gronckles and Night Furies do not like eating it. It is clearly an error, since each dragon is known to eat fish and Night Furies are picky eaters who only eat fish. Aside from that, GRonckles consume fish too as seen in Gift of the Night Fury when Fishlegs was attempting to feed Meatlug fish. Unfortunately, Night Fury has many errors. Aside from the thing mentioned before, you are able to choose to give your Night Fury no tail design.
